Matt Gonzalez
This is some of Matt Gonzalez's work, he uses a lot of colour in his images and also makes a pattern with small pieces of paper on top of the original first piece, he uses a solid background and then cuts out lots of other small pieces to fit on top in a specific order to make a pattern out of them, these images relate to the word 'EDGES' because inside of the patterns you can see lots of sides and edges of the paper, one of the main things he does well is how he manipulates basic photos and shapes to create a more complex design and pattern which looks very nice when it work well, his images look a lot like walls that have a sort of matte tone to them and along with the bright and vibrant colours he uses it helps the image to stand out.
Evaluation
These are some of the images I have taken for my final piece, my initial thought was to imitate Matt Gonzalez's work but after I took the images I realised that what I wanted to do wasn't going to work well so I decided instead to pick 4 images out of the 8 to put onto a canvas and use that idea as my final piece, in terms of how the images relate to edges is because you can see in all of them they have at least one type of edge in them which makes it eligible for what i want to use it for.
These are the final four images I decided to use for my final piece, I chose these specific four because in my opinion they brought out the edges in the images the most because of how the invert has such a large effect on the overall structure, due to its tone that allows the sides and top of buildings to broaden and stand out in front of the background and everything else in the image, it leaves an xray type of look to the image from the cyan colour-way and illumines lines.
